Tacoma, WA – Eri Stackz has experienced more in his life than most – from foster care to a career in the military, to time in prison, one could say that Stackz has had a life full of experiences. But, through trial and triumph Stackz is determined to stay the course and become a musical sensation. The artist found himself spilling out lyrics from a very young age – before he even knew they were lyrics. To Eri, they were just words, purging from his soul. At age ten, he learned the drums, and began to play in church. Ever since, music has been an inherent part of the young artist’s life. Music has filled a void in Eri’s life that was sorely needed – entered into the foster system, Eri was finally adoptive, but never found that he truly “belonged” until he discovered music. “I’ve kind of been out here in this world by myself,” he confesses, “Music always made me feel better. No matter what happens, when I create music or chant a chorus I feel like this might be it.”
The artist’s style is versatile, and he explains, “Honestly, when I get a beat in my head, it just starts coming out.” Lately, his focus has shifted from just rapping to including singing on his tracks. Influenced by a variety of artists, Eri Stackz’ biggest influence came from people like Wiz Khalifa. In fact, the artist was lucky enough to serve as a Production Assistant on the set of Khalifa’s music videos. “They made me feel like, Man if these guys can do it, I can do it too. I don’t feel like I’m limited because of who I am. I’m still able to achieve whatever I put my mind to.”
His latest project, an album entitled On A Mission In Da Town, was released in April of 2016, and embodies the motivation with which Eri Stackz has lived his life since 2012, when he vowed to make music his career. His debut project, On A Mission In Da Town is Eri’s introduction to the world as the rap superstar he knows he can become. “The whole headline for the album is ‘Being on a mission.’ Even when I’m just going to the store, I call it a mission, because you never know what can happen in the process.”
