J-MarioSince 2012, Louisiana native Mario Jefferson has been working to make his management and promotions company, OFF DA METER, a household name.
Inspired by legendary music executives such as Russell Simmons and Jay Z, the Wiley College Alum aims to follow in their footsteps, by building his empire from the bottom up. Jefferson began in the industry by managing and promoting several local artists within his 318 area code. He has used his networking and negotiating skills to increase the reach and build the image of the ODM brand. Along with managing artists, OFF DA METER has hosted showcases and other musical events featuring local talent, as well as bringing nationally known names to the area. ODM’s current management roster includes North Louisiana rapper Moucho, one of many talented artists he says are on the rise in the region. ODM plans to continue showcasing local raw talent through a series of shows, mixtapes and even an annual awards show. The sky is the limit for Jefferson and his ODM brand, which means music isn’t the only area he wants to explore. Jefferson wants to include models, comedians, and even athletes under his management umbrella. His number one requirement when scouting talent? “A great work ethic”. From the man behind an up-and-coming apparel line called #Grindaholic, it’s only fitting that he seeks those who work as tirelessly as he does. With a personal wealth of ambition, drive, passion and experience, he is sure to reach his goal of making ODM a dominant brand in the world of entertainment. |
