MISS EP CIARABeing granted the ability to hone in on your talents at a young age is a gift that’s not given to many. While most individuals are usually still searching for their calling well into their 20’s, you very seldom find those who can place their finger on their niche in their youth. Jacksonville, Florida native, Ciara Quaintance is one of those rare individuals that has been able to see her gift in full form since the tender age of 13. Given the name “Miss Event Planner” by the members of her hometown, Ciara has the capability to set up any event for any occasion.
Blessed with the gift of making even the most sheltered person feel welcomed at an event, Ciara has become a trendsetter amongst her peers as she continues to set new heights when it comes to putting together a well-received and guaranteed successful event. While her résumé is filled with coordinating events for many of Florida’s most impressionable individuals, there was a brief moment where she wasn’t clear on her calling. Throwing her first party at the age of 13 in Jacksonville, Florida, Ciara booked the venue without her mother’s knowledge and with her credit card. Furious that she would go behind her back and secure a $200 venue without her permission, all of the aggression would soon be put to rest once her mother saw how successful her daughter’s party planning would be. Things didn’t slow down for Ciara then either. She then went on to throw one of the biggest Senior Skip Day parties that the city of Jacksonville has ever seen. Coordinating with the son to one of the Pastor’s in the city and fellow teen promoter Pretty Ricky, Ciara had every senior at the “03.03.03 Senior Skip Day” party. The party, though short lived and very troublesome for those involved, jolted Ciara’s passion for event planning into an upward spiral. From there, she went on to throw different house, passion and special event parties to keep her name circulating around as often as possible. Unfortunately though, the jolt of passion didn’t last too long. Taking a break from planning events to pursue her dreams of working in the medical field, Ciara enrolled into Sanford Brown College to obtain her degree as a Medical Assistant and Ultrasound Technician. With only one class remaining and an internship short, she soon found herself leaving the school due to non-accreditation issues. Now, back in full gear of party planning, Ciara then began working with a local Duval County company by the name of Point Blank Entertainment/Dollars in Music Entertainment to create a once a month artist showcase for the unsigned talent in the area. Soon realizing that she still wanted to pursue her next step in education, Ciara relocated to Orlando, Florida and enrolled in the University of Central Florida – but this time, for event management. Linking up with some of Orlando’s top promotional teams including Pat Nix of Frontline Promotions, John Kocky and Tony Khuu of KHEEP Promotions and Troy Gunn of Dreamer’s Legacy Group, Ciara – or Miss Event Planner – has been an intricate part to planning and executing some of the biggest events in Orlando including many that were apart of the 2012 NBA All-Star Weekend. The epitome of a hard-working and dedicated young female, Ciara Quaintance has done more than prove that she is capable of just being another pretty face in the crowd. With her superb social skills, co-owned event planning business by the name of “Ci Me In Your Dreams Enterprises”, double bachelor degrees in Event Management and Hospitality Management, and impressive roster of successful events, there’s no denying that Ciara Quaintance plans to leave an everlasting mark on the industry and all that it has to offer. |
